Welcome! I’m Christine!

I’m an avid traveler, entrepreneur, artist, designer, and foodie, and my love of travel is what started this blog. I’ve traveled to 30 countries so far, and love traveling with my family to discover new places, create fun memories, and check off places on my bucket list. Travel has been the balm in my healing journey and is always something that has given me life!

It’s always fun and refreshing when going to new and exciting places (and sometimes it can be exhausting too, with kids and all the kiddie adventures)! Over the years, I’ve learned a thing or two about traveling with kiddos and have lots of tips to share!

I’ve created this blog to inspire your travels to destinations you may not have thought of, share travel tips, and give you a resource for fun things to do with kids around the world.

It is my intention to make the most of this time I have with my kids before they are all grown up and off to college, and to help you make the most of your time with your kids, too! The days are slow, but the years go by fast, as they say. Creating happy memories with my kids, while also doing fun and interesting things for us parents, too, is the goal. 🙂

My hope is that you will be inspired to make the effort, take the time, and set aside money to go to places that will create happy memories with your family. And perhaps, you’ll check off a bunch of things from your bucket list along the way!

A little bit about us…

We are the Kim family – Christine, Jae, Sophie (14), and Conner (8). We’re originally from Chicago, lived in New York for 12 years, and moved to Texas for a new job opportunity for Jae in 2020. We travel mostly during school breaks and weekends and are based in the Dallas area.

I, Christine, a Korean-American Gen X mom, am the writer behind this blog. Previously, I was an IT consultant, a user experience consultant, and designed products for my own baby products company. I was a frequent traveler while I was a consultant (I flew twice a week) and longed for the days I could travel for leisure rather than just work. And thankfully, now I am able to do just that.

I write all the articles in this blog from my own personal travel experiences and research, and share my perspective from a mom of two who loves beautifully designed hotels, has a taste for fine foods (I attended a healthy gourmet culinary school while living in NYC and interned at one of Jean-Georges restaurants), and loves to find the best places to stay and the most interesting things to do.

Spending quality time with family is the goal, whether exploring locally, taking multi-generational trips, or embarking on our next wildest adventure.

A bit about our kids below…

Sophie

At the age of 14, Sophie now has collected a lot of stamps on her passport for her age. We’ve taken her to Cancun, Montreal, Quebec City, Aruba, Bermuda, Korea, Japan, Singapore, Thailand – Bangkok & Chiang Mai, Bali, UAE – Dubai and Abu Dhabi, Iceland, Amsterdam, Santorini, Positano, Marrakesh, Barcelona, Paris, Qatar, and Myanmar! And those are only the international destinations we’ve taken her to.

Sophie is always getting excited about things, celebrating life, and planning her next birthday party. She loves competitive cheer, creating her own TikTok videos, and the color pink.

Conner

Conner got his passport at 1 month old. At 8 years of age, he has already traveled to Mexico, Bermuda, Korea, Japan, Singapore, Abu Dhabi, Bangkok, Myamnar, and Qatar, with many cities and states in the U.S. too — Florida, Las Vegas, Atlanta, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Utah, Los Angeles, Maine, Kentucky, Louisiana, Texas, New Mexico, Minnesota, all over New York, and so many other states we’ve driven through. He’s already a mini world traveler!

Conner is a serious dinosaur lover. He loves all things Jurassic, so you will be seeing me post more about dinosaurs on this blog soon. He’s always laughing, giggling, running around, doing something silly, and loves his older sister!
