Home2 Suites

The first time we visited Hot Springs, we were hosted at Home2 Suites. It’s a great option for families because there’s a kitchenette, free breakfast, and a pull-out sofa bed. It also has free parking and a beautiful view of Lake Hamilton. If you want to stay by the lake, this is a nice, affordable option.

We were able to watch a beautiful sunset when we arrived back after dinner. Even if you’re not staying there, it’s an incredible place to watch the sunset.

Hotels in Downtown Hot Springs (Near Hot Springs National Park)

Hotel Hale

Hotel Hale is a bathhouse that was converted into a hotel, so it’s located right on Bathhouse Row. It’s now a luxury boutique hotel with 9 individual suites. Families can stay in the Quapaw room with 2 queen beds or the Fordyce room with a King bed and pull-out sleeper sofa.

One of the unique aspects of Hotel Hale is that the hot springs water flows directly into the rooms, so you can take a bath with hot springs water in the privacy of your own hotel room… It’s like a personal spa!

Also, because this hotel is located right in Bathhouse Row, it’s easy to walk around the downtown area. If you want to take a soak in the hot springs in Quapaw Bathhouse, it’s just a few doors down.

Hotel Hale has a casual restaurant called Zest and a restaurant named Eden located in an atrium where there offer more of a fine dining experience. Watch a video about Eden restaurant here.

Located right across the street from Hotel Hale, The Waters Hot Springs is super convenient to tour downtown shops, the bathhouses, and go on a hike in Hot Springs National Park. It’s a charming historic hotel with clean rooms. It also has a rooftop restaurant with a laidback vibe and with great views of Bathhouse Row.

If you are looking for a quiet hotel, this may not be the right choice for you, as you may hear noise from the street, as this hotel is located right in the middle of downtown. But if you value convenience, being in a prime location, and want rooftop access, this may be a good option for you.

There is no covered parking at this hotel, but you can park in the city garage for free down the street or use their valet parking service. Street views are available for rooms with king beds.

As always, they have free breakfast with made-to-order omelets, and an evening reception where there are drinks and snacks. Since this hotel is a bit further away from downtown, it’s a quiet option.

Final Thoughts

Depending on whether you want to choose a place to stay right in downtown Hot Springs, somewhere unique, or some place on the water, your choice may be different from mine. Below are my recommendations based on different criteria.

My Recommendations

If you are looking for convenience and want to be close by to downtown and Hot Springs National Park, I’d choose to stay at Hotel Hale or The Waters Hot Springs.

If you’re looking for a unique stay, you have some very unique options with In the Trees, Starlight Haven, and The Nest. All are excellent choices.

For a rustic cabin experience, Fox Pass Cabins is has outdone itself with its unique decorations. If you want to stay in a cabin, you’ll love this place!

If you’re looking for a modern hotel by the water, the DoubleTree is a great choice.

If you want a historic, boutique hotel, The Reserve is a luxury property that won’t disappoint.

And if you want to stay on the water by Lake Hamilton, Lookout Point Lakeside Inn is a beautiful property to stay for couples where you can enjoy the water.

If you’re planning a large family or friend trip, stay at The Woodlawn Tudor is nice and spacious to accommodate everyone in one place or the Louis Armstrong Suite of Maison 226.

My Personal Preference

My top choice would be to stay at Hotel Hale for a night right on Bathhouse Row to experience a thermal bath in my own room. That’s what Hot Springs is for, right? To experience the thermal waters?

Then next, I would stay at In the Trees, Starlight Haven, or The Nest with my kids for a unique experience staying in nature. Also, a cabin stay at Fox Pass Cabins would be so much fun!

The way I travel, I often like to book more than one hotel on a trip so that I can experience a new place, so it’s possible to get more than one of these places in on our next trip.

That said, I would generally love to stay on the water, but that will have to wait for another time after I try all these unique accommodations!
